Grant Programs from Other Federal Agencies

Some grant programs funded by other federal agencies support research and development in sensor technologies:

• Sensors & Sensor Networks, the National Science Foundation, supported sensor research in a 2003 solicitation.
• New Technologies for the Environment, National Science Foundation, partners with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• The Department of Defense annually publishes a request for proposals covering competitive research for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
• The National Institute of Bioimaging and Bioengineering funds sensor research in the biomedical arena that also has application to agriculture and food science.
