National Invasive Species
Council
The National
Invasive Species Council is an interdepartmental
council that helps coordinate and ensure
complementary, cost-efficient, and effective
federal activities regarding invasive species.
The Council was established February 3,
1999, by Executive
Order 13112. The Council
members include the secretaries of the
Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, State, Defense,
Treasury, Transportation, Health and Human
Services, as well as the administrators of
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
The following are the established invasive
species contacts for the USDA: USDA Coordinators
Rebecca Bech and Deborah Hayes; backup APHIS
Coordinator, Jack Edmundson; ARS Coordinator,
Kevin Hackett; FS Coordinator, Dave Thomas;
