Afghanistan agricultural development project
Since 2003, CSREES has been working with FAS and several U.S. universities to provide assistance to Afghanistan's agriculture sector.CSREES has identified and selected university faculty to serve on assignments focusing on the following priority areas:
- revitalizing the agriculture extension system;
- training veterinarians in laboratory diagnostic procedures;
- agricultural marketing and food safety programs for the fruit and nut sectors;
- livestock health;
- and, capacity building in Afghan agricultural universities.
