CSREES partnership with the Food and Drug Administration
The Food and Drug Administration, Office of Women's Health (FDA OWH) addresses health issues of women, their families, and caregivers by funding research and collaborating with national organizations, corporations, and Federal agencies to sponsor outreach and education efforts. FDA OWH provides printed materials for consumers on a variety of topics, including:
- heart disease
- depression
- lung cancer
- menopause
- HIV/AIDS
- smoking
- diabetes
FDA OWH, in partnership with CSREES, expanded its outreach services to include CSREES health educators. OWH recognizes the important role CSREES plays in providing health information across the life span and is offering free materials to inform consumers. CSREES health educators are particularly interested in FDA OWH's Take Time To Care information series with more than 40 fact sheets on a wide range of health topics for women and their families. These fact sheets are written in consumer language; 4th to 7th grades levels. Diabetes information is also available in 10 Asian languages.
All materials are free (may be a S&H fee) to CSREES health educators. Go to the Federal Citizens Information Center to place your orders.
Visit the FDA OWH publications Web site to download free fact sheets, brochures and new medicine guide.
