Age Paced Parenting Newsletter

The Age Paced Parenting Newsletters, created by CSREES and a multistate team, are used by physicians, child care teachers, parent resource libraries, home visitors, high school teachers, and other parent educators across the county.

Each newsletter provides information geared to the specific age of a child. For example, these “age-paced” newsletters provide parents of a 6-month-old with important suggestions about starting solid food and parents of a 12-month-old with information about learning to walk.

The information is accurate, reliable, and research based—yet quick and easy to read by busy parents “on the go.” Each newsletter series contains information about caring for and teaching very young children and also offers information specific to its state sponsor. Some series cover just parenting of babies; others offer information for parents of children up to 5 years of age. Parents who read and use the newsletters have improved their parenting skills and decreased the incidence of spanking.
