Promising Practices in
Afterschool System (PPAS)
The Promising
Practices in Afterschool System (PPAS) is
an effort to find and share things that
are working in after-school programs. The
PPAS Web site is for after-school program
directors who want to improve the quality
of their programs. Others will find it
useful, too—program staff, volunteers,
parents, community members, policymakers,
funders, researchers, and anyone else who
cares about children and youth.
On the PPAS Web
site you will find information you can use
in your own program. You can see promising
practices from programs around the country,
talk with other after-school staff, search
for funding, look for new curricula, and
share ideas.
CSREES partners with Promising Practices
in After-School to conduct training, provide
reviewers for proposals, design the framework
and criteria for selection of practices,
and advance the field of after-school programs.
Collaborative efforts connect the expertise
of the Land-Grant University System to the
Promising Practices effort and provide opportunities
for CES staff and programs to become part
of the national peer-reviewed collection.
