The Children, Youth, and
Families at Risk (CYFAR) Conference
The Children, Youth, and Families at Risk (CYFAR) conference has focused on strengths and needs of CYFAR programs. The conference welcomed CYFAR staff and collaborating partners, youth and family professionals from land-grant institutions and other organizations, and partners in military youth and family programs.
2011 Conference
To support vulnerable populations, an interagency conference between USDA, NIFA and the Department of Defense (DoD) was held April 27-29, 2011 in Chicago. Over 1,800 participants, primarily extension and military staff who work with youth and families, attended this conference to build connections, competency, and capacity of agencies and programs. It featured keynote speakers, current youth and family research presenters, interactive workshops and computer labs, as well as a program showcase demonstrating successful community programs.
The 2011 Conference Proceedings are available on CYFERnet. Presenters who would like to share presentations and handouts can send them to cyf@umn.edu.

2012 Conference
CYFAR will not host a CYFAR conference in 2012. This change is due to a combination of budget cuts and program direction. Please email cyfar@nifa.usda.gov if you would like to be invited to a stakeholder listening session in February 2012 to discuss the future direction of technical assistance to CYFAR grantees and the Cooperative Extension system.
