NIFA provides funding to secondary and post-secondary institutions to increase the number of skilled agricultural scientists and enhance scientific and agricultural literacy. Some grants are offered to faculty seeking to provide innovative learning opportunities; others fund scholarships to promising students pursuing advanced degrees in agriculture-related fields. In addition, some grants support institutions that recruit and train students to succeed in the growing field of vocational agriculture. NIFA partners with other institutions to monitor trends in agriculture education and the future of agriculture-related careers.
