Farm Simulation Models
Using a database of crop information from
a specific group of farms representative
of primary production areas, as well as farm
simulation models, researchers in Texas and
Missouri are analyzing the impacts of alternative
farm programs. The policy analyses that result
are useful to Congress, producer groups,
and other stakeholders in formulating policy
changes.
The results show the likely economic impacts
of farm policy changes on grain, wheat, cotton,
and rice farms. Researchers also look into
alternative risk management programs and
their impacts on producer viability.
