Community Resources and Economic Development (CRED)

Funded by CSREES, the publication Strengthening Communities: Strategic Directions for Community Resources and Economic Development Programs serves as a revised mission statement and vision for the Base Program in Community Resources and Economic Development (CRED).

The purpose of this updated strategic plan was to articulate the values and beliefs upon which CRED programs are based, clarifying the recipients and educational goals, defining the issues, and exploring new directions.

Following the publication of the plan, CRED sponsored a national conference that brought together extension professionals from across the system to share resources, curricula, information, and experiences related to community resources and economic development programming.
