Improving Animal Products through Animal Breeding and Genetics Studies

Farmers and ranchers use animal breeding and selection systems to improve the quality and desirability of animal products. For example, beef cattle breeding research focuses on selecting superior animals for producing high-quality protein and other nutrients for human consumption. CSREES' program Animal Breeding, Genetics & Genomics also supports work to improve our understanding of animal breeding and genetics.
