National Small Farm Conferences

CSREES organizes a series of Small Farm Conferences to highlight successful programs that enhance income and improve the quality of life of small-scale farmers and ranchers. The conferences are a very popular forum where 600-800 professionals from private and public organizations can share information and ideas on issues and programs affecting small-scale producers.

Beginning in 1996, a conference has been held every third year at a land-grant university in a different region of the country. This policy encourages a diverse attendance of small farm specialists and producers. Each conference focuses on one particular theme and emphasizes programs that can be successfully replicated across the nation.

CSREES organizes the Small Farm Conferences, with sponsorship and assistance from various USDA agencies and from public and private sector organizations.

Conference Proceedings provide detailed information on a wide range of programs and topics related to small-scale production, as well as details on conference themes, locations and sponsorship.
