Publication Features Work of Arkansas Horticulture Professor

The cover of the fall issue of the University of Arkansas Research Frontiers publication features the research on organic fruit production conducted by Curt Rom, a horticulture professor at the University of Arkansas. Rom’s “Management Practices for Organic Orchard Nutrition” project, funded in 2008 through NIFA’s Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative, studies the use of sustainable practices in the production of organic blackberries, raspberries, and apples on a research farm; he hopes to develop techniques that will serve commercial farmers and bring organic produce to the consumer’s table. A slide show and video featuring their research are available to inform producers in the South of how to use organic and sustainable methods.
