What is RSS? |

Health encompasses a broad array of agricultural and human science issues including safety and environmental health, consumer health education, health literacy, and community planning. CSREES and land-grant universities work together to address health issues related to agriculture, community and economic vitality, and family and youth development by forming partnerships with others in the health community at the local, state, and federal levels.

In Focus

• The W.K. Kellogg Food & Fitness Initiative works with cooperative extension in US nine communities.
• CYFERnet brings together the best children, youth, and family health education resources of all the public land-grant universities across the country.
• A CSREES Innovation Grant allows land-grant partners to enhance Just in Time Parenting materials.
• TEAM Up pilot project partners CSREES with cancer organizations and land-grant universities in fighting cancer through screening promotions.
• Priester National Health Conference highlights programs and research developed and implemented around leading health indicators and focus areas.
• The National Food and Society Roundtable on Obesity and Youth identified childhood obesity prevention strategies for Land-Grant University System and USDA.

Partnerships

• CSREES is a member of the Interagency Collaborative to Promote Public Health and Recreation.
• CSREES partners with America On The Move®, a national initiative, to help Americans improve their health and quality of life.
• CSREES partners with the Food and Drug Administration, Office of Women's Health to address the health issues of women, their families, and caregivers.
