SBIR Grantee Information - Closing Out Requirements

Grantees must complete several project activities and administrative actions before a project can be officially “closed out.” Properly closing out an award is critical because 1) CSREES approval of the final technical report is necessary to release the final 15% of grant funds and 2) no grants (i.e., phase II grants) will be offered to companies delinquent in submitting required paperwork. Below are close out-related documents.

Within 45 Days of Quarter End

• Report of Federal Cash Transactions (SF-272)

Within 90 Days of Official Grant Expiration Date

• Final Technical Report
• Financial Status Report (Form SF-269)
• Annual CRIS reports (AD-419 & AD-421)
  Note: USDA-SBIR Phase I grantees are only required to submit AD-421 CRIS forms

As Applicable

• Invention and/or Patent Disclosure
• Genome Reporting
