Small Business Innovation Research: Plant Production and Protection - Engineering
This is one of 12 topic areas in the USDA SBIR program. Funded projects seek to develop improved crop production and protection technologies, including cost and energy efficient precision farming technology, improved sensors and remote sensing instrumentation, and innovative farm equipment. The program also supports development of improved farm and greenhouse structures and methodologies for growing plants under controlled conditions, and improved strategies for energy efficiency. Technologies addressing the needs of specialty crops are especially relevant.
