Critical Issues: Plant and Animal Pests and Diseases - Animal
The Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, Public Law 112-55, did not provide funding for the Critical Issues program in FY 2012; therefore, NIFA will not offer the funding opportunity this fiscal year. The FY 2011 request for application is available for informational purposes ONLY. The program is designed to provide one-time seed funding to help initiate work requiring immediate attention until other longer-term resources can be secured to address the issue. Priority will be given to proposals which are staffed by collaborative teams who document their experience in making optimal use of existing local, regional, and national capabilities and capacities; and demonstrate their experience in conducting time-critical research, however all eligible applicants are encouraged to apply. NIFA anticipates soliciting proposals several times this fiscal year to address specific new or emerging issues. McIntire-Stennis Cooperative Forestry Act, and accredited schools or colleges of veterinary medicine for the purpose of facilitating or expanding ongoing State-Federal food and agricultural research programs.
