National Research Initiative - Animal Protection and Biosecurity (A), (B), (C): Animal Disease, Animal Well-Being, Coordinated Agricultural Project (CAP)
Maintaining and improving animal health to meet the food and fiber security needs of this Nation is an increasingly difficult challenge. The program develops and delivers science-based information and technologies to reduce the number and severity of program identified high priority animal disease outbreaks in cattle, swine, poultry, horses, farmed aquaculture species, and small ruminants. The program also supports studies to enhance animal well-being for agricultural species. The Animal Protection and Biosecurity program includes three program elements: (A) Animal Disease; (B) Animal Well-being; (C) Coordinated Agricultural Project (CAP). Each element identifies a limited number of specific priorities for which proposals are accepted. Applicants must read the entire Program Description section for current priorities and additional information relative to the program of interest. Please carefully review the RFA guidelines to ensure application acceptance. One section of Animal Disease element (A) requires a letter of intent due October 9, 2007.
