Information Systems and Technology Management (ISTM) Applications

The Applications division of ISTM is responsible for system and software development and maintenance for all NIFA applications. Applications personnel support the following key systems and business areas:

  • Web-based Peer Review System—allows external reviewers to link their profile information and to perform and submit panel and ad hoc reviews online.
  • Enterprise Architecture and Applications Standards—ensures data, applications, and technology comply with NIFA standards.
  • Document Management—automated content management, document management, and workflow processing.
  • One Solution—non-redundant, single-point-of-entry processing and reporting.
  • REEIS—centralized knowledge base of information on USDA programs, projects, and activities in the REE mission area.
  • CRIS—documentation and reporting system for ongoing and recently completed research projects in agriculture, food and nutrition, and forestry.
  • Extension Reporting—documentation and reporting for plan of work and accomplishment reports for extension.
  • C-REEMS—system for supporting NIFA grants processing.
